Program Description

This three and a half week program offers students a unique opportunity to take a theater course in Greece. The first two and a half weeks are spent on the island of Hydra. Students take classes in movement, acting and voice, modern Greek language, and theater history, and study and rehearse a classical play.

At the end of the rehearsal period, the play is performed on the island of Hydra and in outdoor amphitheaters in Greece. While on tour, students see a performance at the ancient theater of Epidaurus, visit Delphi, Corinth, Mycenae and a number of archeological sites and museums for a more in-depth understanding of ancient Greek mythology and culture. Free time in Athens affords students a chance to soak in the history and charm of the bustling European city.
